Ingredients: Crust

  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 3 Tbsp cream cheese (softened)
  • 3/4 cup blanched almond flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tsp psyllium husk
  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

Toppings

  • 1/4 pound ground beef
  • 1 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 cup marinara sauce, homemade (try our recipe), or store bought
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped or sliced green bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup sliced button mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup pepperoni slices (we use turkey pepperoni)
  • 1 (1/8 inch) slice red onion, rings separated
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt mozzarella in 30 second increments until fully melted, stirring to avoid burning.

  3. To bowl of melted mozzarella, add all crust ingredients and, using hands, knead together until fully combined. Roll dough into a ball and flatten into ¼ inch circle on prepared baking sheet.

  4. Bake for 10 minutes, remove from oven, flip, and bake for another 2 minutes.

  5. To make the meat topping, heat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef season with salt, and cook, stirring to break up the clumps, until the meat is browned and crumbly, about 5 minutes. Set aside.

  6. Spread the pizza sauce over the crust. Sprinkle the cheese over the sauce, and top the pizza with the cooked beef, olives, bell peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, and red onion. Sprinkle with the Italian seasoning, if desired.

  7. Return the pizza to the oven and bake until the cheese is melted (approx 7-10 minutes).

  8. Store extras in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat slices on a baking sheet in a preheated 350-degree oven for 5 minutes or until warmed through.
